Jewish Cemetery and My Monument

We were asked to go to the Jewish cemetery at Jalan Zainal Abidin.After the class, we went to the cemetery by bus.The bus stopped near Penang Times Square and we walked to there.






These are the tomb of the Jewish.I was so surprised that the tomb of the Jewish are in the shape of triangle and arc,some of them are just like a small house.




There are tombs of different sizes.




We were asked to produce a monument for ourselves too.

This is my monument made from bamboo.It is just like a lantern.The candle inside the lantern shape monument when lighted gives the feeling of having hope to people.I wish to leave behind hope to people whenever they think of me.I wish to let people know that death is not the end of life and the end of hope.When there is hope,people will have motivation to do things they want to do.When there is hope,people will think optimistically.When there is hope,people will feel happy.This is what I wish people in this world would be.

Looking Forward

Many people said that there will be a big disaster during year 2012 and the Earth will destroy,so came the end of the world.Some people were thinking that since it is the end of the world,there is nothing you can do,so they did nothing for the disaster.However,there are some of them thinking that we should do something to face the coming unknown disaster to save our life and to save the earth.Yes,we should really do something to save ourselves and also our earth during the disaster,we cannot just waste our in that way.So what can I contribute to the 2012 disaster?

First of all,I will equip myself with knowledge on survival.This is because during the disaster,we shall know how to make use of things that is available around us.Even a single tree or an animal can help us to survive longer.Equip myself with knowledge on how to make raft,how to swim,how and where to find food,how to cure wounds and sicknesses...all these may help when disaster lands.During the disaster,water will rise up high and flood or tsumani may occur.At that time,high lands could be shelter to people.So when I am equiped with survival knowledge,i could help people around me.

I think all of us shall fell proud of the domes that we had done.The dome is the survival ship that may save our lives.During the disaster, people on the dome may not be able to see lands in days or even months or years.Since people may stay in the dome for a long period,comfort is important to provide spiritual support.Environment could affect the mood and thinking of a person.If the environment in the dome is comfortable,it could help to encourage people in it to have a better mood.So as an interior design student, I could help to design to provide a btter environment in the dome.

Other than these,I think everyone on earth shall go for green.The earth now is seriously being devastated,level of carbon dioxde too high,ozone layer depletion...All these were caused by human activities.Although we may not know where go green from now on may help the earth from not facing the disaster,but at least we had done something to save the earth before the disaster comes.Recover the earth to the look when it is still "healthy",plant more trees,reduce the use of vehicles to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide,having a good attitude on saving and loving the earth is required.This is because in the cycle of ecosystem,each role plays a rule in balancing the ecosystem and maintaining the earth in its "healthy" state,so that the lives on earth could survive and the earth could keep "healthy".

Looking Back

It has been some time that I have come to USM.It was such a memorable time having university life in USM,in HBP.
Couldn't believe that I have been staying in USM for nearly 3 months,it is just like I just entered USM a few days ago.The memory of the first day I reached USM for registration is still fresh in my mind.I was so excited to come to USM,I knew that I would start a new life in USM,and I had prepared for that.

This is the view of Penang from HBP,taken when I just reached here.

The first day of our class was studio,and this studio has brought me new experiences,make me to do things that I had never tried before in my life before this.Bamboo is the popular character in HBP and one of the assignment was to draw something related to bamboo.
This is mine.Assignment 2A.

The BST,that was the first time I had to take the saw and parang to cut bamboos.It was actually suppose to be used during GETTHO night,but unfortunately,I fell sick and couldn't attend to the dinner.
The mask.This is another fresh and new and fun experience too.I had done the mask together with my friends.We had tried to put the clay to do the mask and use the egg white and bandage to put on our face to make the mask of the shape of our face.Patience is the thing that I had learnt throughout this.And finally,our product had come out!!


There are still many assignments that I had gone through in studio.All those were fun experience.There are some assignments that required us to draw and I believe that my drawing skill has improved during these time.







And the Urbanity assignment,it was the time that I came to knew new friends,Gan,Chan Kian Hoong and Tee Chor Boon.We went to Penang Times Square to study the form and space there.We had a lot of fun during doing this assignment.This group work,together with the cooperation from each team member,we manage to complete the task.
On the day of merdeka,we went to countdown in Penang Times Square,the submission of our assignment was at Penang Times Square!What a special work.I believe that I wouldn't able to experience this if I were in other school other than HBP.

This is the team members of Top Vision 7+3.
We had happy times doing assignments together.The Urbanity,thearette, and Merdeka countdown.I had learnt how to communicate and cooperate with the others during all these assignments.

Although assignments in HBP were a lot, but I enjoyed myself doing all these.I love creative stuff,and this is what I am doing now in HBP.I felt that I have improvement in HBP,drawing skill,communication skill,thinking skill,creativity...YES!I am becoming a better person!Although it is tough and crazy rushing assignments in the midnight, but yet, looking back, I felt that I had memorable and happy times in HBP.My life is not wasted,it is meaningful.

6 Survival Kit on IBU

This is the survival kit that I have designed. This design is based on the concept of first aid kit.It has handle on the top,which is easy to be carried around when the disaster comes.



It looks like a human face.Human's face means life.This gives the feeling to people in IBU the hope of living during the tough time of disaster.


The handle can be turned to the other side of the kit to save space usage.



It can be opened up.Inside the kit, the invention of Novel Dielectric Antenna for Wireless Applications(2007) is used.It is being sticked to the lid of the kit to detect other PONDOKs.The antenna is being installed in other PONDOKs in order to send and receive signals from IBU.



There is a screen in the survival kit showing the locations of the PONDOKs.There is a solar panel at the upside of the screen,to provide energy for the screen to function.It can also provide electrical energy to IBU when the battery of IBU is insufficient.



This is the diagram showing how the survival kit provides electrical energy to IBU.By using a wire,connect pluck at both survival kit and IBU,then the kit can provide electrical energy for IBU.


The screen together with the solar panel,called as Board can be taken out.It functions just like a laptop,so it can be taken to anywhere.The battery of the Board is based on solar energy.



Things that are needed during the disaster is placed inside each segment.

Left segment :
Knock-Down Remotely Piloted Vehicle(KD-RPV)(2006) which can be dismantled into smaller parts is put inside.This airplane helps to do surveillance and reconnaissance in the catastrophic region,it helps people in IBU to know the situation around that cannot be seen from IBU.After the surveillance,IBU can move to places that thinks to be safe.

Right Front segment :
1. Claysorb : Novel Clay-Based Adsorbent for Wastewater Treatment(2004)
It is used for water treatment.During disaster period,the problem of water shortage may raise.Therefore,this claysorb can be used to treat the water at the surrounding so that the water is safe to be consumed.
2. Haruan Spray for Burn and Wound (2007)
It will form a layer of film after sprayed on the wound or burned skin and stops bleeding on skin.Since it is in the spray form,it can cover the wound of any sizes.
3. RUB-ADH -A Novel and Multipurpose Rubber Adhesive from Various Rubber Wastes(2005)
It can be applied to IBU when there is any structure damage.It can also be used to link with PONDOK when necessary.Just place the RUB-ADH at the place that IBU wish to link with PONDOK,when the PONDOK comes near then it will stick to IBU.It is easy to apply,has strong bonding strength,fast dry and high water resistance.

Right Back Segment :
Used to put food.Canned food can be put inside to help the people in the IBU to survive for 40 days and nights.

Youth Jam 10

It was 30/8/10.We took the USM bus at 4pm and reached Penang Times Square afterwards.Our mission for that day is to release our balloons from our 6BBBB.

After took the filled-helium gas balloon.Sooo happy~~~

Oh my god~!The balloons is going to raise me up into the sky~!

When reached the night,all of us had prepared ourself for the countdown event.
