What I Heard

RUS 101 Integrated Studio 1

12 July 2010, 0900

USM-The APEX University

This was the first lesson of my life in USM. We were having our lesson in DK E48B. First of all, we were being welcomed by our friendly and nice lecturer, Mr. Wan Burhanuddin Wan Abidin to the first APEX University in Malaysia. So what is APEX? APEX is the shortform of Accelerated Programme for Excellence, which USM is currently under this programme. USM has planned to accelerate its progress of producing excellent students and improving the university from year 2010 to 2012,this is how the slogan of USM is, "Transforming Higher Education for a Sustainable Tomorrow".

This is our lecturer of RUS 101, Mr. Wan Burhanuddin Wan Abidin.

Everyone was listening tentatively in the lecture hall.

Production

There are 6 elements involved in the process of production.

  • Intention
  • Act
  • Actor
  • Rule
  • Product
  • Place
What do we need to produce something?First of all,we need an intention to participate in this process. Intention is the beginner of the whole process. With the intention, the motivation to realise our intention is what we called as act.The one who act is called as the actor, and rules are being carry out by actor. With the act carry out by the actor, we have product.Product is what you put in a place. There are 3 important points that we should remember, the 3P: People, principle and place.

3P
  • People
  • Principle
  • Place

Resource : http://www.hbp.usm.my/1b/101

With the right action taken by following the 3P concept, the result will be our expected product.

Actor

The people who take action is the actor. The actors in this APEX Production are the students, studiomasters, USM community,Penangites, and et al.
