Studio Preparation and Dome Assembly(24/10/10)
Sunday morning...Should be sleeping sweetly in my bed..But HBP students are awake this time and walking from hostel to HBP. When I first arrived at HBP, I went to the studio to help to continue the works for exhibition. But before our decoration work started, our strut that was kept in studio needed to be taken back to the dome site. There are totally 12 struts for our group, so a few of us carry the strut to the site and some continue the works in studio. I carried the struts to the dome site. This was what happening at the dome site, the top of the dome is done and they were trying to do the top 2nd layer.
Then I went back to studio to continue the works in studio. Some tables needed to be arranged again, the chairs were needed to be kept under the tables, globe arranging, mask hanging...
Our globes were arranged in the shape of the golden proportion.
Small domes ready to be arranged for exhibition.
At around 12pm, good news! We can have free lunch at Subaidah! An happy meal at Subaidah.
We were required to go back to do dome at 2.30pm, but due to I had performance that day and need to go for preparation, I left at 1pm. Letter was given to Encik Wan. And that was what I had done that day.

Tensegrity
This is my tensegrity toy. I had tried doing the tensegrity and after a few more tries, finally I could successfully built it out! This is the power of tension and compression in this little toy. I keeps the original look of the bamboo without decorating anything on it. Don't you think it looks 'local' when the original look of the bamboo is kept? Just like congkak, it has its feel if it is made of wood. If the congkak if made of other material then it doesn't bring out the feel of 'local'.
Dome Assembly(22/10/2010)
We were required to assemble the dome before the exhibition come. So on 22/10 after RUS101, we went back to hbp again for dome assembly. We were required to check our strut due to the exposure of the bamboo struts to the sun, it may dry up and shrink, so the connectors on it might loose cause the failure of the dome. So we checked our strut then. Sadly, the struts that our team did most of them are loose, so we were forced to redo our struts again.
Measure, mark, cut, fitting in the connector...all these works are repeated again...
I worked with my friends until late evening after I had completed doing a few struts..

Studio Preparation for Exhibition( 23/10/10)
9.00am, 23/10/2010
I arrived at studio 100 for the preparation work of studio for our HBP exhibition. Firstly, we categorise the domes that we had done into two groups: domes that still remain well for exhibition and domes that have spoilt. Then we sorted out the 6 balloon bamboo black boxes and put our globe at another side.
After that, it was time to arrange the tables. Some stacked the tables at one side along the wall while some were sweeping the floor. With our cooperation, we finally finished arranging the tables.
I have a sensitive nose. To prevent myself from sneezing badly, I had to wear mask while doing the work.
The next thing we did were to put back all our assignments back into the studio into an ordered place. The domes, 6 balloon bamboo black boxes, globes. After some effort, everything was in order. The studio looked fresh, clean, neat and tidy!!Tadaaaa!!!
Saw my globe! Couldn't stop myself from hugging my own product!haha..
At last, let's take a group photo!

Assignment 10B Xzbit
This time our assignment is to do a globe. Interesting! I've never done this before in my life. So first of all, after i cut the cardboard and paste it using cement glue, then I started my design work.
So what kind of design shall i use for my globe? I'm thinking of using the materials that I have currently to do my globe, as this is what that fulfils one the Green Building Index(GBI) criteria, material reuse and use regional material. So what kind of material do I have now? After I looked through all the materials that is left for those previous assignments, I decided to use aluminium foil and colour papers. So with limited resources, I am going to build my idea out!!
Using diffrent colour papers, I cut them into stripes and stick them to the edges. Because my memory is colourfull, full of diffent kind of feeling and experiences, there is happiness, there is satisfaction, there is naughtiness, there is seriousness, there is my work, my product, my sweat, my heart and my ideas...This is me.
Then it is time to ' plant in ' all my memories to this globe, which is a planet inside my heart. This planet stores the memory of mine in RUS101. There are memories that we attended classes, memories that I did my assignments, learning outside classroom experience, memories doing assignments with my friends....
This is the photo that I like the most among so many photos~ feels warm~
After I plant all my memories on this planet, I use aluminium foil to create the river on the planet. This river is called The Silver River of Memory. It flows through all around the planet and passes through every places of memory I had. Rivers also represents the longiness of a relationship. In this case, the rivers represents the friendship between my friends in HBP and I.It is RUS101 that let me have the chance to know all my buddies. Since the end of this semester is approaching, and some of us might be separated to to groups, I wish our friendship could last long and flows continuously, just like the water in river. I really feel happy to know them and appreciate the chances we had to do things together.
This is the rivers on my planet. The aluminium foil that reflects the light around make the globe shines like a star. It is really a planet! A planet that shines like a star!
There is a part in this planet that stores words, feelings that I have towards RUS101 is stored in here.Feelings that I have is like 'HBP students are strong!!', 'we are tough!', 'sleepless nights', 'brainstorming'...etc.This is the wordle art that I have learnt in RUS101!
This is the welcome sign board for anyone who visit my planet.
Thank you for exploring the planet of Hong Hui Yi. =)
